It all began in 1949, when Dona Deolinda, a Portuguese immigrant, opened Padaria do Lar in Pompéia. For years, the quality and unique flavor of her delicious recipes captivated the neighborhood and made the bakery a benchmark for quality in the region. Dona Deolinda decided to open another business and sell Padaria do Lar.

1949

The return to its roots came in 1996, when Dona Deolinda’s grandchildren inaugurated a successful tribute to their grandmother: the first Dona Deôla bakery in Pompéia, on the same corner where Padaria do Lar once stood. By combining the concepts of a bakery and a snack bar, and building on a legacy of determination and creativity, the new Dona Deôla gained prominence in the region, naturally leading to the expansion of the chain.

In 2026, Dona Deôla celebrates its 30th anniversary. Beyond its five neighborhood bakeries, the company has expanded its operations to more than 30 locations within renowned hospitals and corporate office buildings, while also bringing its culinary expertise to corporate and social events. It serves more than 300,000 people every month, employs over 1,200 people, and continues to grow without losing its family spirit, its tradition, or its commitment to quality.
